How to Stop Previous Searches From Appearing in Google Chrome
In this tutorial, we will show you exactly how to stop previous searches from appearing in Google Chrome. Simply follow the steps below.

Stop Google Chrome From Showing My Previous Searches
Here’s how to stop seeing previous searches appearing in Google Chrome:
1. Delete Browsing Data
A simple method to prevent your past searches from appearing is by clearing your browsing data. The fastest way to do this is by pasting ‘chrome://settings/clearBrowserData’ directly into your Google Chrome search bar then press Enter.

In the pop-up window, choose a time range you want to clear, such as ‘All time’ to remove everything. Ensure that both ‘Browsing history’ and ‘Cached images and files’ are checked.
Finally, click Delete data to finish. This will delete the saved searches from your browser’s memory, preventing them from reappearing.

2. Turn Off Web & App Activity in Google My Activity
Google saves your searches in its ‘Web & App Activity’ feature, which can be disabled. Start by clicking Google MyActivity or paste this URL (https://myactivity.google.com/product/search?utm_source=chrome_cbd) directly into your Chrome search bar then press Enter.
This will take you to your saved search history within your Google Account.

Next, delete your saved search history. Click the Delete button to view the options for deleting specific time ranges. To ensure no search history reappears, we recommend selecting Delete all time.

In the dialog box that appears, you’ll see a list of saved search histories that may reappear in your search bar. To complete the process, click Delete to confirm.

If successful, a new dialog box will appear confirming “Deletion complete.” Click “Got it” to close it.

The next step ensures that Google will no longer save any search history to your account. On the same ‘Search history’ tab, click on ‘Saving to Web & App Activity’. This will take you to the ‘Web & App Activity’ settings.

Click Turn off, then click Turn off again to disable saving search history in Web & App Activity.

Finally, a dialog box will confirm that Web & App Activity is off. Click Got it to exit.

3. Disable ‘Make Searches and Browsing Better’
Chrome includes a feature designed to improve searches based on your browsing history. However, you can turn this off to prevent it from saving or using your previous activity.
To do this, simply paste ‘chrome://settings/privacy/guide?step=welcome’ directly into your browser then hit Enter. This will open the ‘Privacy Guide’ tab.

Click Next to move to the next page, then turn off the ‘Make searches and browsing better’ option. You can close the tab after this. This will stop Google from predicting your searches as you type in the search bar.

That’s it! No more search histories appearing in the Google search bar.
